We could have chosen any other day, but Arlyn, our buyer, and I decided to settle our capital gains on the most dreadful day of April 15, 2008. It's not just that it's a payday, but it is also THE LAST DAY OF FILING INCOME TAX RETURNS FOR BUSINESSES.
Landbank was overflowing with deadline-catchers, and we were going head to head with them. Since Arlyn's payment will be coming from her Pag-ibig loan, we're both rushing to complete Pag-ibig's requirements:
- Payment of Capital Gains
- Update of Tax Details with City Assessor's Office
- Transfer Title with Registry of Deeds
We only got to do task #1. Lois was with me all the while, filling up forms, falling in line, waiting patiently for our turn.
It's really noteworthy how Lois and Baby 2 are also contributing, though forcefully, in order for us to move in to our new place. Their missing sleep time, feedings and rest. It's not that I want them to, but the circumstances were calling for it and they're just two little, innocent babies with a mom like me, who take things unfussingly. Yes, they're both graceful under the frazzling times when I'm ruffled-to-the-edge already.
Sentimental over leaving
I remember feeling nostalgic while putting away our stuff. The empty shelves. The blank wall. I really forced back the tears, I didn't want to be caught crying for something we wanted so much to trade off. Whew!
After almost a year, God has blessed us with a buyer for the condo unit we've been trying to sell. In the coming months, the deal would have been completed. Good because we will be able to transfer near the kids' future school. But I really feel a bit sad over saying goodbye to the neighborhood we've grown familiarly close to.
I hope this new neighborhood turns out better.
