Our calendar is now on its last page. 2006 has come so fast and, is now almost over. It's amazing that Lois is now almost 9months and a bit surprising, that I stayed home to see her grow all throughout. The admin job I got here is not really time-consuming, at least not yet, so it's basically Lois and sleep and books and emails, and with Mhagie now around, TV.
Lois has grown so big, learning to crawl and walk at the same time. She's much sociable and teachable now. She knows mommy but still can't say it, waves bye bye, claps her hands together, does close-open when prodded. Very far from the sleeping-all-day Lois we brought home last February. She dances to any tune, and turns to the TV whenever her favorite ad is on. Her all-gum mouth now sports four tiny pearls of teeth which she uses to crack open her favorite cotton bud container. She can make music with Daddy's fruit shaker and the walls, the chair, the cabinet and the ref! Sound asleep beside me, her arms stretched out as if claiming her territory, Lois is the picture of God's faithfulness and mercy in my life. How lovely!
Trick or Treat
Last Friday, October 27, we trooped to Daddy Poh's office at the 10th floor of Philam Life Tower in Paseo de Roxas, Makati for Misys' Halloween Party. With Granny and Yays coming all the way from Laguna, nanny Mhagie and me brought Lois, after a quick trip to the pedia - Lois was vomiting quite unusually for the last few days and daddy Poh was worried - who said that Lois is as healthy as she can be, for her very first trick or treat. Even if she's still not allowed to eat candies and has no idea as to what's happening, we eagerly dressed her up at the ladies CR as baby Tigger. Lois was obviously excited too, she was smiling sweetly as her granny takes snapshots of our little cub.
Since there's a 1:1 baby to adult ratio at the party, we waited for Daddy Poh to pick us up at the cafe downstairs. It was heart warming to witness how almost everyone beamed at Lois, dressed up for her first party. Almost everyone within my line of sight turned to her. Mhagie and I even heard some "Oh look, there's a baby Tigger!", "How cute!" remarks. When we got to Daddy's office, the whole floor was ready for serious Halloween fun. The serious IT office was transformed to cubicles of witch's lair, under the sea treasure trove, Ghostbuster's headquarters, tombs, haunted houses, as spooky decors and creatures roamed the place. Kiddie food and entertainment were all over too, at the reception, the hallway, practically all corners as trick or treat was starting. And lots of cute kids in spunky costume were busy filling their baskets with sweet treats. I think I enjoyed it as much as Lois did. Or maybe more.
