We were looking for a worthwhile afternoon activity on a weekend after a lunch party in Marikina. I thought visiting Phillipine Science Centrum would be enjoyable for the kids. Other option was the doll museum in Marikina too, at the sports complex. However, it was closed during weekends.
Getting to Philippine Science Centrum
The centrum was nearer Santolan LRT Station and SM Marikina rather than from the Barangka entrance of the Riverbanks, we had our unexpected taste of the whole Riverbanks experience which is filled with outlet stores of shoe brands and other clothing stores from Marikina.
There's an SM supermarket so the place is full.
We almost missed the centrum, which was inside a hall where most business spaces are closed. It was open on Saturdays. There were no field trips ongoing so it was just us there.
What to see at Philippine Science Centrum
The exhibits available at the centrum shows various science concepts and principles that are interactive. Discover more about lightnings, light, bubble making, billiard physics, earthquakes, tsunamis. Learn about how diseases are passed on thru viruses, parasites, fungi and bacteria. Experiment with speed, optical illusions, solar system and many more. Loads of fun for the kids, if only there are guides to help us along? The place is fan cooled so come in comfortable clothing. Be prepared for mosquitoes too.
