Yes, something world-class has FINALLY come out from Pandi, Bulacan - my hometown. For the longest time, it has been a quaint, little town unknown to the country. I'm sure it is still now, I just saw the town announcement that it has gained 2nd-class municipality status. Kudos! But the time of reckoning is upcoming with the opening of Amana Waterpark. It boasts of a wave pool that's the biggest in Asia along with 12 others. It is scheduled to open on March 28, 2009.
From what I've heard, they will be bringing in TV celebrity Jericho Rosales during the opening salvo. He's a surfing aficionado, maybe he'll ask him to do some tricks at the pool. If swimming at Amana is the same as surfing the beach waves, then surfers won't have to travel as far as La Union for the waves.
I'm really excited for Pandi as the resort will surely bring in jobs and improvement to my town. As early as now, I've heard they're limiting the hiring to Pandi residents. My brother tried applying as a bookeeper. I hope he gets it.
To get there via public transport, take the Sta. Maria, Bulacan route of bus lines. Then alight at Walter-Mart Sta. Clara in Sta. Maria, Bulacan. Take a jeep to Pandi, at the Pandi Poblacion, take another jeep ride with the Bagbaguin signage. It'll pass there. Perhaps they'll come up with a direct route. I hopefully pray.
Entrance fee they say is P250/head.
And for the contact numbers, they are: 0922-8708428, 044-6612384, 044-6612383.
can we bring our own food?

My high school friend Santiago been telling me about this new resort in Bagong Barrio. He would gladly bring us there pag nagbalik bayan kami. I also heard Willie Revillame plugging Amana in Wowowee show. So, I decide to check their website. Good luck and more power po!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mam Elvie of Edmonton! Yes, it is in Bagong Barrio, Pandi. It is really a huge place. Ektarya po talaga ang lawak kaya talagang 'promising' yung resort. I am personally praying that it will have a good impact to Pandi. According to what I've heard, one of the owners of the resort owns the Bodega ng Bayan chain of appliance stores who is a sponsor of Wowoweee, Abs-CBN, that's why the plug. That's Mr. Ricky Roque who is also a vibrant councilor-elect of Pandi.
ReplyDeleteWill be visiting Amana next week, so hold on there for the pictures. :D
Another trying hard resort
ReplyDeleteano ba yang amana pano sila makikilala wala manlang sila website. tsktsktsk
ReplyDeleteit looks good and ok (promising actually...esp in the ads) but it is faaaar from finished. we didn't even have an outlet that's ready to use (apparently we had to call somebody to have it installed, then we'll pay extra pa for power) IMHO it's still a work in progress. we went there today and to be honest i didn't really have a great time. so many people, only two pools (the wave pool and the kiddie pool). plus the heat of the sun was just too much. i'd recommend to those who are interested to just visit later, when everything is already in place, finished & polished. otherwise, it's like you'll pay them 250 to test drive their resort. just a thought. :-)
ReplyDeleteand PS: you can bring food inside (which is good btw. a saving grace...)
hi Tamsee, catz here! We are planning to visit Amana too this weekend. Yahoo answers directed me to your blog! nice tams! keep it up and hope to see you soon
ReplyDeleteThanks Catz! Enjoy your trip there. Di ba nakapunta ka na sa Bulacan nung wedding namin, mas lagpas ng kunti dun.
ReplyDeleteHope to hear more from you soon. :D
Hi there! I'm originally from Bagong Barrio, Pandi, Bulacan and it feels good to know that something good is happening in our place. It gives the "proud" factor-feel to it. Before, it kinda sucks to think that some people don't even know that Pandi exists. And now, media/press influx has helped us be recognized.. it's just awesome! :D -KY
