Eager to be Mom - Again!

Baby 2's full term now, starting October 25. That means he's 37 weeks in utero and has all his parts ready for life outside. Any minute, I may give birth-but based on my experience with Lois, it might not quite happen soon. No contractions, no 'bloody' show so far. I'm really praying that I may have a quick, easy, hassle-free, normal labor and delivery this time around. It took me 13 hours of labor to deliver Lois. Thanks to epidural, I was able to bear the whole phase; I was even able to sleep when contractions became long and unbearably painful. Yet I remember my lower body was so numb out of the anesthesia that during delivery, the medical team had to help me 'push' Lois out. One of the doctors said they did that because Lois was almost out already, and I was half-body numb to deliver her out.

Most readings and feedback I get say that this time will be easier and faster because I've had a normal birth delivery already. That's what I've been really praying for-I don't want to pass out delivering Baby 2!

That's why I've been walking around too, or should I say waddling around? I want to be in that critical balance of being physically fit and rested enough for Baby 2's D-day. Funny though, I find a lot of people worrying over me when they see me walking around when my tummy's this big, 'pointed' and low. They think I may give birth any moment and would rather have me wait it at home. Yet this is that cramming part when I want to fix things before I give birth, so I line up my days with all these bank transactions, document filings, shopping - even meeting friends. Hehe!

No name?
Maybe Baby 2's not ready to come out yet because he still has no name. We haven't decided on one yet because once we've short listed some, we'll find that it's meaning, word association or sound is negative. Lately though, it seems like we're leaning towards naming him after our dads, Carlos Alejandro. We'll see!

Talking machine
Lois, on the other hand, has been churning out these weird sounds and noises. It doesn't seem like she's really communicating when they say them because she goes real fast talking like that. She seems like doing a newscast on a foreign language.

Aside from this, Lois' vocabulary has grown tremendously. It's not like she can carry a conversation, but she speaks in phrases already.

She'd tell her dad, "Mommy, abu!," which means Mommy's chasing me. Or one time, she was doodling in her book when her nanny tried to borrow it from her to see her work. Full of protests, she said "Yaya, ago," which means her nanny hid the book from her. At least I know Lois can tell me now if something bad is being done to her – or maybe not.
