Power of Gawgaw, Power of Love

It's scorching here in Manila, indeed, global warming at its finest. When I'm outside, shade doesn't provide shield anymore. The sun's rays permeates, even air-conditioning units give up. So Lois is kept indoors most of the time, but since we gave up our air-conditioning unit, she was filled with prickly heat - which grew worse over a couple of days to heat rash. Bathing her twice a day didn't solve the problem. She was beginning to scratch herself. Then we tried cornstarch. And lo and behold, the red marks were gone over a day. Nothing beats old ways still...

11 weeks
My last ob-gyne appointment revealed that Baby 2 is 11 weeks already, estimated delivery date is November 8. All things seem normal, despite my poor appetite. Heightened smelling power and ultra sensitive taste buds still make the pregnancy difficult. I can't do the things I want to because I lack he energy to do them. If I force myself to eat, just so my food intake is equivalent to that pre-pregnancy, I'll throw up. Terrible, worst feeling of all.

My sleeping pattern has changed too. I can hardly keep my eyes closed, even at nighttime. Sleep has this small window, and once I feel it, I immediately take the opportunity to doze off lest I remain tossing and turning in bed.
The normal pee-a-million-times-a-day pregnancy symptom has already taken effect too. But I'm not so bothered since I'm mostly at home. It only gets irksome when I'm out, and queues to the lady's CR is like enrolling in UP's PE Classes.
Baby 2, I can't wait for you to come out - when all these changes would be replaced with moments of cuddling and laughter. Your Ate Lois and I are eager to see you, I'm sure even your Daddy Paul.

Time would be fleeting, for sure, just like in the case of Lois. For months it seemed like she just stared into the air, but now she's doing so many things that are adorable, and, of course, brilliant. Last Saturday, we took her to three consecutive events and she was well behaved all throughout. First, early in the afternoon, we went to the hospital for doctors' consultation: Lois was scheduled for a vaccine, but she has just recovered from diarrhea so pedia moved it after we've checked her urine and stool are fine; I was due for my pregnancy ob-gyne visit; and Daddy Paul went to see the EENT for some earache. Lois was her usual waling doll self, passing by other patients, stopping at clinic's doors and lovely items, which appeal to her. Her weight improved only by a 0.1 kg because she was having this bout with diarrhea. I hope it'll end soon.

Next event was Daddy Paul's officemates' wedding - Gentrie and Kima at San Sebastian and Gloria Maris. It was a huge Chinese wedding, and more than Daddy Paul having a nice time meeting old friends again, Lois rocked the lauriat menu. I brought her spoon and fork and she was busy chomping away the asado and lechon. She was at home with Daddy Paul's friends - giving away high fives up in the air, grooving to the Chinese tunes belted out by the host. We were sorry we couldn't stay longer since we had to attend a third activity and that was Ninang Joy's 29th birthday party.

My best friend’s birthday party
Finally, Joy is joyful! It's obvious. The diamond ring around her finger gives her smiles special meaning. I'm really happy for her, no one deserves to be happy more than she does. She's a blessing, and it's grand to see her all blissful now. Cali, the lucky and deserving guy is good inside, out. My prayer for them is that they will grow stronger with the years, since troubles are sure to come and test them, and that they will always choose to remain happy and meek no matter where life leads them. Can't wait for the big wedding!
